Description
Speak Truth 2 Power
Barbara lives on a small ranch in Oregon with her husband, where they raise geese, chickens, Navajo Churro sheep, Oggie Dog, a variety of cats, and an opinionated Macaw named Rita. She believes that self-sufficiency and localization of food sources will be necessary to survive the coming depression. To this end, she hopes that sharing information with others of like mind will lead to a brighter future where people reach out to each other and form small communities in which food is grown locally, and trade is established between neighbors.

Her philosophy is this: You are on this earth for a reason - to fight for the light. Your words are swords that penetrate the darkness with truth and light. You have a purpose.

Please visit her community-focused website, Surviving the Middle Class Crash at

Hi again Barbara:

Last week on OEN, I responded to a article you posted about GMO, and directed you to a site that has content regarding the issue.  A couple of days ago, I updated that thread with a new entry that links to the documentary broadcasted  in France in March, so I don't know if you have seen it or not:

The World According to Monsanto - A documentary that Americans won't ever see.

On March 11 a new documentary was aired on French television  (ARTE – French-German cultural tv channel) by French journalist and film maker Marie-Monique Robin, The World According to Monsanto - A documentary that Americans won't ever see. The gigantic biotech corporation Monsanto is threatening to destroy the agricultural biodiversity which has served mankind for thousands of years

Hi Joann,

Glad to "see" you here! I haven't seen the documentary yet, but will do so tomorrow as I get to take the day off. Thanks for posting it! Also, thank you for reminding me about the info links. I intended to join, and just did. I joined The Great Deception forum. Were both links to the same forum? It looked like it.

The GMO subject is one that I believe is the most important one we will ever discuss. Tinkering with genetics in such a casual way has dire consequences that are already affecting us in ways we will probably never realize. I shudder to think what is going to happen to the next generation as well as the entire planet.

Thanks Barb for getting back to me on the GMO dog food issue. I went to the link and found petfooddirect.com and did find an organic treat that says they use no GMO's. Maybe I will try making my own. It shouldn't be that difficult. I am still reading and researching too. There's so much to keep up with. I agree that the GMO subject is important. Our pastor's daughter is deathly allergic to tree nuts and they believe that it is a result of the soy formula (most likely GMO) they had her on as an infant (they adopted). Nut allergies have risen by huge numbers. It's all very scary.
